More About Beverly Peele

A Los Angeles native, Peele entered the fashion world in 1987, eventually landing her debut cover for Mademoiselle just two years later. Her striking look quickly made her a favorite for high-fashion campaigns, leading to work with powerhouses like Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, and Versace. She was equally successful on the catwalk, walking for avant-garde labels like Comme des Garçons and the legendary house of Chanel. Over the course of her career, she has fronted more than 250 magazines worldwide, with her face gracing the covers of Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan.

Beyond her print work, Peele became a recognizable face in 90s pop culture through several high-profile music videos. She filmed with Heavy D & the Boyz and Jodeci, but most notably joined a roster of elite supermodels—including Tyra Banks and Linda Evangelista—for George Michael’s Thierry Mugler-designed Too Funky. By 1997, she had successfully pivoted into acting, securing roles on TV favorites like Sister, Sister and Girlfriends. Her film portfolio also includes the 2002 project Sweet Friggin’ Daisies, where she shared the screen with Zooey Deschanel.
