More About Addison Riecke

Addison Riecke was born on January 26, 2004 in Covington, Louisiana. Her interest in the arts began early; by age four, she was already singing and learning various instruments. Her professional career took off at age eight when she landed a role in the ABC comedy Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life), followed by spots in commercials for PlayStation and Lunchables. Her big break came shortly after when she was cast as a series regular on Nickelodeon’s The Thundermans. For four seasons and over 100 episodes, she played Nora Thunderman, a mischievous young superhero with laser-vision trying to pass as a normal kid. The sitcom was a massive hit, drawing millions of viewers following its 2013 debut and even picking up a Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite TV Show in 2016.

Riecke also starred as Cathy in the Brat digital series A Girl Named Joe, appearing alongside Annie LeBlanc. The story is set in 1963, roughly ten years after a factory fire devastated a small community. Cathy and Jo, despite coming from very different backgrounds, form an unlikely bond while digging into the town's hidden past. The show premiered in the summer of 2018 and quickly found a massive audience, with the first season reaching over 5 million viewers.

Her move into feature films began with The Beguiled, Sofia Coppola’s 2017 take on the Thomas Cullinan novel. Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War in 1864, the plot follows the residents of a girls' boarding school who take in a wounded Union soldier. Riecke played Marie, one of the students, acting in a cast that featured Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Colin Farrell. The movie was a critical success, earning Coppola the Best Director prize at the Cannes Film Festival before Focus Features released it in theaters that June.

More recently, she worked with Hannah Marks, Liana Liberato, and Dylan Sprouse in the indie film Banana Split. The project, which had its premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival, deals with the complicated friendships that form during the transition from high school to college. In this American High production, Riecke took on the role of Agnes, the blunt and witty 13-year-old sister of the main character, April.
